These courses are designed to help you, as educators, add a significant tool to your work belt to help students reach their potential.  Tasked with the reality of “teaching to the test” can unfortunately somewhat stifle our creativity as teachers.  Of course, testing is important.  There are few other methods as reliable to ensure they are learning what you are teaching.  So how do you help your students learn the material in a way that will stick?

 

Creative Drama is one way.  This is different than Drama that we go see for entertainment in one very important way: Creative Drama is meant for the benefit and growth of the participant, rather than the audience.

 

These workshops are meant to help you deliver you knowledge in a more meaningful way with a greater immediate impact on your students.

Since Elementary teachers wear so many hats, teachers will leave this workshop with grade-specific lesson plans tied to the TEKS using Creative Drama in ELAR, Math, Science and Social Studies.

Educators will have the opportunity to discuss and collaborate with other teachers of the same grade.

This workshop strives to enhance the “tool kit” of the teacher, allowing them to become a more effective educator, and thereby helping more students to learn more efficiently.

We all know that Math is a left-brained function.  So how do you reach students who are very "right-brained"?  Creative drama helps to bring the two together to teach Math in a way that makes it "real" for students who have a difficult time with the abstract of the "number world". 

This workshop is designed for K-8th Math Teachers who would like a few more tricks up their sleeve to reach all of their students, and make math interesting to everyone.
