Creative Drama Classes will be held weekly during the school year for each age group. Classes will run the entire semester (16 weeks), culminating in a performance on the last day of each semester.
There is one available class time for each age group. Most groups meet during the week, with the exception of the 4-6 year old group, which meets on Saturday mornings.
Most classes will be 90 minutes, and will use Theatre Games and activities to help draw out the talents of each child.
Those children who already love to act will learn how to give focus, as well as take it when appropriate. They will learn acting and audience etiquette, as well as pantomime, improvisation techniques, and presentation skills. Those children who need a little drawing out will also have these opportunities, and will focus on trusting themselves and being confident.
Each child will work on developing "Social Presence" - the awareness of self confidence that allows you to posture yourself in any situation comfortably. It is also the ability to speak up in a group, participate in conversations, say "no" when it is not popular to do so, and to have the tools necessary to succeed in front of peers and through life.
Classes will be $65 per month. There will be a $50 non-refundable annual registration fee.
